A budget take on Estee Lauder's summertime classic Bronze Goddess, Sulfur opens bright with mandarin and bergamot before quickly settling into the creamy coconut-and-white-floral heart everyone reaches for. Tiare, orange blossom, jasmine and a touch of magnolia bloom over a warm base of coconut milk, vanilla, sandalwood, amber and a lick of caramel - that classic suntan-lotion-on-warm-skin effect. Set against the real Bronze Goddess it leans sweeter and slightly more synthetic, the sandalwood thinner and the famous skin-like softness rendered flatter, so it loses a little of the original's quiet-luxury polish. Projection is moderate and turns intimate after an hour or two, with longevity that fades sooner, especially in heat. None of that spoils the appeal for the money: it is a happy, creamy tropical scent that blooms in warm weather, evoking holidays and golden skin - ideal for summer days, casual wear, easy dates and balmy evenings, reading as playful, sensual and comforting.
