Vel Rose opens fruity and bright: a juicy peach and tart blackcurrant warmed by a flicker of ginger and cinnamon, that signature LV fruity sparkle. The heart blooms into rose - a rich Bulgarian rose softened with creamy coconut milk, lily-of-the-valley and a powdery violet, the centrepiece the original is built around. The drydown settles into a clean Ambroxan-and-patchouli base, modern and slightly musky. Held against the eLVes it imitates, this Perfume Parlour version follows the creamy fruity-rose blueprint but in a simpler register: the original's faceted double-rose and luminous Ambroxan radiance become a sweeter, more linear rose here, and projection is gentler. It still reads pretty and feminine throughout - a romantic, easy-to-love fruity rose for spring and autumn that delivers the eLVes mood at a fraction of the designer price, if without its polish and reach.
