Velvet Solaris

Perfume Parlour Velvet Solaris is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2024. Velvet Solaris opens with Tobacco, Cinnamon, Cardamom, and Pink Pepper, settles into a heart of Sandalwood, Patchouli, Heliotrope, and Jasmine, and dries down to a base of Benzoin, Vanilla, Tolu Balsam, and Tonka Bean. Perfume Parlour's Velvet Solaris carries a Favourite verdict, a warm spicy-led wear.

A warm, spicy-sweet nod to Creed Centaurus, opening on tobacco, cinnamon and cardamom and drying down into vanilla, tonka and benzoin. Perfume Parlour's version leans gourmand-sweet and a little flatter, missing some of Centaurus's leathery-smoky nuance and lasting power.

About

Velvet Solaris arrives warm and inviting: tobacco, cinnamon, cardamom and pink pepper open with a rich, spicy glow that recalls Creed Centaurus. The heart softens with sandalwood, patchouli and a hint of heliotrope and jasmine, keeping it smooth rather than sharp. The base is where it turns cosy and addictive - bourbon vanilla, tonka bean, benzoin, tolu balsam and ambroxan create a sweet, ambery wood that lingers comfortingly. Compared to the Creed, this take pushes the vanilla and sweetness forward and lets the original's leathery, slightly smoky-green complexity flatten into something more straightforwardly gourmand. Projection is pleasant for the first few hours before hugging the skin, and longevity is good though not Centaurus-level. A snug cold-weather spice for date nights and evenings out.
