Wood Emilia

Perfume Parlour Wood Emilia is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2019. Wood Emilia opens with Bergamot and Orange, settles into a heart of Oud, Coriander, and Amyris, and dries down to a base of Patchouli, Sandalwood, Cedar, and Leather. Perfume Parlour's Wood Emilia carries a Favourite verdict, a woody-led wear.

A budget take on Acqua di Parma's Oud Eau de Parfum - the same elegant trademark citrus opening into a clean, smooth oud with leather and creamy woods. Wood Emilia captures that refined, never-barnyard character but reads flatter and shorter-lived than the niche original, the oud thinner and the blend less seamless.

About

Wood Emilia opens with Acqua di Parma's hallmark citrus sparkle - bright Calabrian bergamot and sweet orange - before easing into its woody heart. There a clean, smooth oud takes centre stage, never animalic or barnyard, lifted by a herbal coriander and soft amyris in the manner of Acqua di Parma's Oud Eau de Parfum (2019). The base is warm and refined: creamy sandalwood, dry cedar, earthy patchouli, a supple leather and a wrap of musk. Perfume Parlour's interpretation captures the original's elegant, classy oud-and-citrus character convincingly, but it reads a fraction flatter, the oud a touch thinner and synthetic, and the transitions less seamless than the designer blend. Where the original can push a strong 10 hours with average projection, here longevity is more moderate and the trail closer to the skin. The effect stays sophisticated and grown-up - a clean, polished oud-wood for autumn and winter, with enough lift for cool spring, at home in formal settings, evenings and the office.
