Zagros opens on a juicy, slightly smoky pineapple lifted by grapefruit and bergamot, the sharp, concentrated citrus-fruit flash that made Nishane Hacivat a modern niche favourite. The opening quickly hands off to an earthy heart of cedar, patchouli and jasmine, before a base of oakmoss and dry woods takes over - the super-dry, mossy-woody drydown the original is celebrated for. The overall character is fresh-fruity up top, woody-green underneath, and unmistakably grown-up. As a Perfume Parlour budget interpretation it renders the composition flatter and more 2D than the niche original: the smoky pineapple is simpler, the oakmoss-wood depth thinner, and longevity sits skin-close at a few hours rather than the 12-plus, beast-projecting wear Hacivat is famous for.
