Zanzibar Tales follows the much-hyped Tales from Zanzibar by Memoirs of a Perfume Collector, opening with a zesty lime, mint, blood mandarin and pink pepper. A juicy tropical heart of guava, blackcurrant and coconut gives that creamy-yet-green husk freshness the original is loved for, before a base of candied fruits, musk, ambergris, moss and a whisper of oud leaves a soft tropical-musky trail. The original is famous for being a wearable, clean, uplifting tropical-fruit scent that's gorgeous in hot weather, with loud projection and a fantastic 10-12 hour longevity. This clone keeps that rich tropical-fruit signature and the musky drydown, but the fruit reads a little simpler and sweeter while the projection and longevity drop to a few hours.
