096 YD works through Versace Yellow Diamond's bright citrus-floral structure, opening with Amalfi lemon, pear and neroli before a mimosa-freesia-water lily heart and a musk-guaiac wood base. Yellow Diamond made its name as a sparkling, luminous fragrance, citrusy and confident without being sharp, and this dupe captures that fresh, upbeat energy well through the top and heart, with the mimosa-freesia pairing reading close to the source. The finish is where it loses a little ground, the real fragrance carries a more polished, almost glowing musk-wood base that gives it lasting luminosity, while this version's base settles into a plainer musk that fades a touch sooner. Still a bright, likeable citrus floral that gets most of the way to Yellow Diamond's sparkling signature.
