The 7 Virtues Patchouli Citrus is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2018, created by Julie Pluchet. Patchouli Citrus opens with Bergamot, Mandarin, Pepper, and Peach, settles into a heart of Jasmine, Geranium, and Peony, and dries down to a base of Amber, Cedar, Sandalwood, and Patchouli. The 7 Virtues's Patchouli Citrus carries a Statement verdict, a green-led wear.

This one's a proper mixed bag, love it or hate it. Some find it a bright, uplifting floral-citrus; others get an overwhelmingly sweet, old-fashioned scent that just doesn't quite hit the mark. Not for the faint-hearted or those expecting a true patchouli bomb.

Top, heart and base are the brand's own listing, not a timing claim - the industry classifies a note by its character as much as by how fast it fades. Each curve here is modelled from that material's own volatility, so groups can overlap when a house lists long-lasting materials in its heart.

Its moderate longevity and sillage make it versatile enough for casual wear and dates, but the sweetness can be a bit much for formal settings or the office. Some find it uplifting, making it suitable for day-to-day use, particularly in spring.

About

Opens with a lively, albeit sometimes artificial, burst of bergamot and mandarin, quickly joined by a sweet peach note. This fruity introduction soon gives way to a dominant floral heart of jasmine, geranium, and peony, which can lean heavily sweet for some. The base attempts to ground it with soft amber, cedar, and a subtle, often elusive patchouli, finishing with a mossy undertone.
