Meo Fusciuni
Italian independent house blending poetry, memory and raw materials into introspective niche perfumes.
About Meo Fusciuni
Meo Fusciuni is an independent Italian perfume house created in 2010 by Sicilian biochemist and ethnobotanist Giuseppe Imprezzabile, who works under the poetic name Meo Fusciuni. The brand was co-founded with his partner Federica Castellani, who serves as artistic director. Based in Salsomaggiore Terme in northern Italy, Imprezzabile composes every fragrance himself in his own atelier, drawing directly on his background in chemistry, botany, and herbal medicine.
The first releases formed the Trilogy of Journey, a series built around three places that marked the founder’s life: Istanbul, Morocco, and Sicily. This beginning set the tone for the brand’s focus on perfume as narrative: each scent is conceived as a written idea or poem before it becomes a formula, a process the house summarizes in the phrase “storytelling is the body of perfume.” Later collections such as the Cycle of Poetry and subsequent works continued this diary-like structure, with Narcotico in 2014 marking the house’s first parfum concentration.
Meo Fusciuni is known for a high use of natural raw materials, often combined with carefully chosen aroma molecules to create specific textures and moods. Notes like vetiver and Hedione recur in multiple compositions, reflecting the founder’s interest in balancing organic richness with airy movement. The result is a catalog of fragrances that frequently explore introspective, sometimes shadowy themes, blurring the line between personal memoir, literature, and olfactory composition.

Brand Evolution
The brand began in 2010 as a personal project of olfactory research with the Trilogy of Journey, explicitly tied to specific places that shaped the founder’s life. It then moved into more abstract, introspective territory with cycles like Poetry and Metamorphosis, where the written concept or poem fully precedes the formula. Over time, concentrations have become richer, and themes have grown darker and more internal, while the technical execution has become more refined, showing a surer balance of naturals and synthetics.
Quick Verdict
For fragrance lovers who want emotion and narrative over easy compliment-getters, Meo Fusciuni is one of the most distinctive small houses in Italy. If you do not enjoy smoky, meditative or slightly obscure compositions, this line may feel demanding rather than enjoyable.
