Nikos
Greek designer fashion offshoot focused on fresh, sensual aromatic and aquatic masculines under Coty.
Nikos is a fashion and fragrance label created by Greek designer Nikos Apostolopoulos, who first became known for his provocative mens underwear designs in the mid-1980s. After expanding into womens underwear, swimwear and sportswear, he moved into perfumery and launched his debut scent, Sculpture Femme, in 1994, followed by Sculpture Homme in 1995. These launches marked the start of the Nikos Parfums line and quickly gained commercial traction at a time when many upscale retailers were struggling.
Although the designer himself is Greek, Fragrantica lists Nikos as a German brand, and its fragrance business sits under beauty conglomerate Coty as parent company. Over time, the line has expanded well beyond the original duo to multiple flankers and new compositions, with releases continuing into the 2020s. The Sculpture name remains central, spawning variants such as Sculpture Homme Parfum and other themed editions that reference Greek sculpture and Mediterranean imagery.
Nikos fragrances have been created with established perfumers including Jean-Francois Latty, Michel Almairac and Alienor Massenet. The brand is best known for clean, slightly sweet aromatic fougere and aquatic styles with a noticeable sensual undertone, often packaged in sculptural bottles that echo the fashion label’s body-focused aesthetic.
A designer, mid house known for aromatic fougere compositions.
Nikos started with the feminine Sculpture Femme in 1994, quickly following with Sculpture Homme in 1995 and building a reputation on sensual, body-conscious advertising tied to its underwear roots. Over time the focus has shifted toward extending the Sculpture concept through numerous masculine flankers and updates, including stronger parfum concentrations. Under Coty, the brand has leaned into mainstream-friendly freshness and accessible pricing, while still referencing Greek sculpture and Mediterranean themes in both naming and bottle design.
Nikos is a solid, value-oriented designer line for those who enjoy fresh, slightly sweet masculine fragrances with a nostalgic 90s edge. It lacks the artistry of top niche houses but delivers dependable, crowd-pleasing scents at reasonable prices.
