Baby's breath is a cloud of tiny white flowers on thin stems, used as a filler in bouquets. The flower has almost no scent, so the perfume note is a soft, airy accord built to suggest it.
Scent Profile
Baby's breath smells faint and airy, a wisp of powdery green over clean white musk. It has a clean, mineral quality, like tissue paper wrapped round a bouquet or fresh linen. A soft floral sits in the middle, close to lily of the valley but less sweet and less defined. It settles into a soft musk that is almost too quiet to notice.

Origin
Gypsophila paniculata has almost no scent. The note is a perfumer's reconstruction, built from hedione, white musks such as galaxolide and a trace of linalool. Fragrance-oil makers sell versions that add citrus, jasmine, peach and lily.
Usage in Perfumery
Used as a sheer, transparent floral in light floral-musk accords. It adds softness and air rather than a named flower.
