Green Vanilla is vanilla read through a green filter. A second, botanical sense of the phrase exists and this note is not it. The unripe, uncured pod smells of almost nothing.
Scent Profile
Green Vanilla is vanilla cut with green. It reads as a silky, grassy vanilla rather than the plain sweet gourmand kind, with a herbal lift running through the cured bean. A faint wood note and a balsamic, nutty warmth sit underneath.

Origin
No supplier sells a raw material called Green Vanilla. Suppliers sell Vanilla CO2 and vanilla absolute from cured Vanilla planifolia pods. Eden Botanicals' own page suggests adding violet leaf, celery seed or caraway CO2 to put a green note on vanilla, so this is a built accord rather than a distillate. The botanical sense is a different material. Vanillin is made by curing. It is not present on the living plant in any quantity worth smelling.
Usage in Perfumery
Use it where vanilla is wanted and sugar is not. Retailer copy for the clearest example, Regime des Fleurs' Green Vanille, states the method outright: true vanilla layered with coriander, hazelnut and vetiver "to keep things cool".
