About
Hookah is the smell of shisha smoke: molasses-soaked tobacco, fruit flavouring, and the charcoal burning on top of it. It is sweet, thick and smoky at the same time. The fruit is a flavour layer over cured leaf, and the charcoal is the part that separates it from any tobacco note in a tin.
Scent Profile
Hookah smells of molasses-soaked tobacco leaf under burning charcoal. The smoke is what sets it apart from any note in a tin, coal-like rather than cured leaf alone. A fruity apple or grape flavouring sits over the tobacco. A thick, sweet molasses runs through the whole thing, with a honeyed edge, and a cooling mint shows through in certain blends.

Origin
A composed accord, not an extract. Premiere Peau states it is built from tobacco absolute, fruity-sweet materials such as apple and grape, molasses and honey notes, and soft charcoal-smoke accords, and adds that the charcoal quality can be made with cade oil or birch tar at low concentration - a real smoke material, not a metaphor. The real-world reference is mu'assel smoked in a water pipe. The flavour-house source adds that cooling or mint shisha is a recognised sub-type, blended alone or into other flavours for an icy exhale.
Usage in Perfumery
An amber-gourmand accord that carries social and Middle Eastern atmosphere. It pairs with oud, rose, amber and dried fruit in Middle Eastern-inspired fragrances.
