About

Creamy peach flesh with whipped cream

Scent Profile

Melbatone smells of soft, juicy peach flesh, slightly overripe, folded into whipped cream. It is creamy and sweet, with a nutty undertone. At low strength it reads as peach cream, and at high strength it turns oily.

Smell words come from published sources.

A given perfume with this note may use this material, or something else.

Origin

Melbatone is Mane's trade name for gamma-decalactone, CAS 706-14-9, FEMA 2360. Mane makes it by biotechnology as an EU natural molecule. It occurs in peach, apricot, strawberry and dairy.

Usage in Perfumery

Perfumers use it as a heart-to-base fruity modifier for creamy peach effects. It gives the peach quality in osmanthus reconstructions. It is also used in flavours for baked goods, candy and drinks.
