Alexandria UK Casanova is an Eau de Parfum. Casanova opens with Bergamot, Grapefruit, and Plum, settles into a heart of Orange Blossom, Orris, and Cardamom, and dries down to a base of Amber, Cedar, Vetiver, and Vanilla. Alexandria UK's Casanova carries an Acquired verdict, a citrus-led wear.

Casanova is inspired by Roja Parfums' A Midsummer Dream, a rich citrus-chypre. This dupe copies the grapefruit-bergamot-orris skeleton but simplifies Roja's dense, barbershop-adjacent complexity into a brighter, thinner citrus-woody scent with far shorter legs and less character depth.

About

Casanova takes its structure from Roja Parfums' A Midsummer Dream, opening with a sparkling burst of grapefruit zest and bergamot lifted by a hint of plum, echoing the original's citrus-forward entrance. The heart brings orange blossom, powdery orris and a touch of cardamom for a soft, elegant floral-spice core, before settling into a base of white cedarwood, benzoin, vanilla, amber, vetiver and moss. Where the genuine Roja is a dense, linear citrus-chypre with an unusual barbershop quality that reviewers call a masterpiece, this dupe reads simpler and airier, with the powdery orris doing most of the heavy lifting and the mossy, ambery depth of the original noticeably thinned out. Longevity and projection are modest, a few hours of citrus-floral brightness fading to a soft, close-to-skin powdery finish rather than the 6-7 hour medium-projection wear reported for the original. It's an easy, likeable warm-weather scent for daytime or a first date, but it doesn't chase the niche complexity that makes the real Midsummer Dream stand out.
