About

Ebony Flame opens with a plume of cathedral incense and a crackle of black pepper, a close echo of Ebene Fume's meditative first spark. As it warms, a heart of leafy violet, burnished leather and cade oil emerges with labdanum seeping in sweetness, tracking the original's shift from fiery and peppery into smoky, drier woods. The base settles into dry papyrus, sticky resins and deep guaiac wood, giving a woody-smoky trail, though the projection drops off faster and the overall composition feels one-dimensional next to Tom Ford's more nuanced buttery-wood original. Still, for the first several hours it delivers a recognisable slice of that palo-santo-and-incense mood at a fraction of the cost, making it a reasonable entry point for anyone curious about the niche original before committing to the full bottle.
