Bleu Royale is Aromara's interpretation of Bleu de Chanel, the woody-aromatic fragrance that's become shorthand for modern, versatile masculinity. The opening is citrus-forward and lively - lemon, bergamot and grapefruit sharpened by pink pepper - closely mirroring the bright, energetic start that made the original so instantly popular. The heart brings ginger, nutmeg, jasmine and melon for a warm-fresh transition, before the base settles into a woody-incense finish built on vetiver, cedarwood, sandalwood and labdanum. This is where the dupe shows its budget roots most clearly: Chanel's original achieves a smoky, almost mineral depth in the drydown that this version renders as a simpler, slightly sweeter woody-musk, missing some of the incense's smoky edge. The citrus opening and mid-stage freshness are convincing enough to satisfy fans of the genre, and the fragrance performs well for daytime wear, projecting confidently for the first couple of hours before settling close to skin. Given how many premium and drugstore alternatives already chase this exact scent, Bleu Royale holds its own as a competent, low-cost entry.
