About

No. 401 opens with the same sun-kissed mandarin and bergamot brightened by ginger that gives Valentino's Voce Viva its instantly joyful character. The orange blossom and gardenia heart follows the original's blueprint well, capturing the luminous white-floral core, though the gardenia reads a touch soapier and less golden than the real thing. The base of sandalwood, oakmoss, vanilla and musk aims for Voce Viva's signature 'crystal moss' freshness against the vanilla warmth, but the oakmoss barely registers and the composition settles into a simpler musky-sweet finish rather than that distinctive cool-warm contrast. Longevity is moderate - strong for the first few hours before fading to a soft skin scent - making it a cheerful, wearable citrus-floral for daytime, if not a precise match for the original's more layered radiance.
