Rose & Blueberry Body Mist

Rose & Blueberry is Coup de Coeur's rose mist, though the rose is handled the modern way, wrapped in fruit and sugar rather than left to stand on its own. Magnolia and rose open it together, which gives a creamier, less thorny floral than a straight rose note, and raspberry and blackcurrant arrive almost immediately to pull it towards jam. Pink pepper adds a peppery sparkle and patchouli sits underneath giving a bit of shadow, which is what stops the composition tipping fully into confectionery. The drydown is frankly gourmand: vanilla, caramel and musk, warm and soft and close to the skin. Worth noting that despite the name, blueberry does not appear in the published pyramid; the brand's own copy describes walking through a garden where roses bloom beside blueberries, and the fruit that is actually named is raspberry and blackcurrant. Treat the blueberry as scene-setting. As a mist it is light and short, an hour or two at most, and it sits close rather than announcing itself. That makes it a good daytime option for anyone who finds proper rose fragrances too formal, and a good layering base under a heavier rose or berry scent. Spring and autumn suit it best.
