About

L'Homme by Divain is a woody fougere built around the same ginger-bergamote-lemon opening that made the YSL original a modern classic. The heart brings white pepper and basil over green violet leaf, echoing the original's spiced freshness, before settling into a base of tonka bean, Tahitian vetiver and cedar. It is a competent daytime signature, polished and inoffensive, though the dupe's performance is noticeably shorter and its texture thinner than the smoother, more expensive-smelling original it is modelled on. Best worn to the office or a daytime social event where subtlety, not projection, is the goal.
