Amber - Absolut Perfume

Amber is part of Eden Perfumes' own Absolut collection, a dry and dusty powdery amber oriental built to evoke hot desert air drifting over a spice market. It opens with bay leaf and a resinous warmth, moves into a heart of myrrh, sandalwood and patchouli, and settles into a base of benzoin, vanilla and amber that carries a slightly malty, boozy, tobacco-tinged richness. The overall effect is intoxicating and balsamic, with a velvety powdery coating that reads as warm, exotic and a touch mysterious rather than sweet or fresh. This is a dark, spice-heavy amber composition suited to cold-weather evening wear, and its natural ingredient base gives it a soft, rounded quality rather than the sharper synthetic edge of some commercial amber orientals.
