Eden's version opens with bergamot, saffron, nutmeg and cardamom, establishing the same warm spiced foundation, before moving into a heart of coriander, raspberry, chamomile and olibanum that introduces a fruity, resinous complexity. The base is where the composition tries hardest to match the original's ambition, layering maple syrup, cedar, oak, patchouli, almond, tobacco, labdanum, vanilla, geranium, gingerbread, benzoin, tonka bean, amber and cherry into a rich, gourmand-oriental finish. By Kilian's original is frequently described by reviewers as one of the most intensely layered fragrances in its category, with exceptional longevity and a smoky-sweet tobacco-vanilla signature that lingers for a full day.
