Gallagher Fragrances Aquarose is an Extrait de Parfum launched in 2021, created by Daniel Gallagher. Gallagher Fragrances's Aquarose carries an Acquired verdict, a floral-led wear.

This marine rose is divisive, with some finding it a photorealistic fresh ocean rose and others a soapy, green, or even pickle-like take. If a strong, wet rose with salty nuances is your thing, you're in for a treat; otherwise, sample first.

Top, heart and base are the brand's own listing, not a timing claim - the industry classifies a note by its character as much as by how fast it fades. Each curve here is modelled from that material's own volatility, so groups can overlap when a house lists long-lasting materials in its heart.

When To Wear

Best Seasons

Best For:
Spring Summer

A warm-weather pick - at its best in summer and spring.

Best Occasions

Best For:
Casual
Also Works:
Date Formal

Its long-lasting nature and moderate sillage mean it's perhaps a bit much for a formal office setting, but it shines in casual daytime wear and could be an interesting choice for a date. The aquatic and rose notes make it a great summer daytime scent.

Declarable allergens

We derive these from the materials behind this fragrance's notes, not from the bottle. Each one is likely, not confirmed. The list is partial - the box can name others.

About

Aquarose opens with a strong, almost 'nuclear' burst of rose, reminiscent of a rose garden by the sea. The initial floral intensity is quickly met with fresh bergamot and bright orange, giving it an uplifting start. As it settles, salty driftwood and aquatic notes emerge, creating a 'wet' effect, while a base of musk and ambergris adds depth and a slightly mineralic quality. Hints of patchouli and sandalwood ground the composition, preventing it from being overly sweet, though some detect a green, almost stem-like aspect to the rose.
