A brief bergamot and mandarin opening gives way quickly to a rose heart and a rich patchouli-vanilla-amber base, echoing the original's structure of light citrus over a deep, warm oriental core. The dupe leans sweeter and more straightforwardly vanilla-amber than Dior's version, which layers in smokier, more resinous facets (frankincense, sandalwood) for extra complexity and shadow - here that nuance is largely missing, leaving a simpler but still cozy and warming sweetness. Performance is the other major gap: Dior's original has serious sillage and can last well into the next day on fabric, while this oil dupe settles close to the skin within a few hours.
