Sekushi No 7 Hair Mist

Sekushi is the house's boldest idea: a sweet fruit accord and a dark leather accord written to seduce each other. As a hair mist the balance shifts in the fruit's favour, because sugary and fruity materials stay lively on hair while heavy leather notes sink, and the result is more playful and less brooding than the extrait. Orange, raspberry and apricot open it, jammy and ripe without turning into a smoothie, and candyfloss follows almost immediately with a fairground sweetness that is the perfume's signature. Lily of the valley threads a little green freshness through the middle, which keeps the sugar from becoming airless. The other half is leather, and it is real leather rather than a suede impression: dry, slightly animalic, shadowed by patchouli and olibanum. Rosewood and musk soften the join. On hair the leather reads as a low, warm hum under the fruit rather than as the equal partner it is on skin. Expect three to five hours, normal for the format, with better projection than most hair mists thanks to the sugar. It works across the year and suits evenings best.
