Neandertal Them is a unisex Eau de Parfum composed by Euan McCall. Grapefruit, lavender, carrot seed, seaweed and iris open it. Neroli, hinoki and magnolia form the heart, with sandalwood, ambrette, styrax, musk and ambergris below. Flowers and soft woods meet green, salty and mineral ideas, and the result is stranger and more interesting than a plain fresh scent. The start is clean and green, close to brackish, with iris and carrot seed giving it a cool, earthy shape. The heart softens with neroli and magnolia while hinoki adds a dry, clean wood. The finish is quiet and skin-like, built from sandalwood, ambrette and musk with a little ambergris warmth. Longevity is good and projection moderate, so it sits at arm's length rather than filling a room. With nothing leaning heavily towards one season or one setting, it can be worn year round.
