About

Neandertal Us is a unisex Eau de Parfum composed by Euan McCall. Bergamot, orange, elemi, pink and black pepper, and eucalyptus introduce a heart of rose, cardamom, incense and geranium. Vetiver, hyraceum, labdanum, myrrh, cypriol, cade, oud, moss, sandalwood and musk form a substantial base. Citrus and aromatic freshness are set against smoke, resin, woods and animalic materials. The entrance is pepper, eucalyptus and citrus, sharp and clean, and then the smoke arrives: incense, vetiver and darker woody facets, with something of campfire smoke, boot polish and tanned leather about it. Those are impressions of its effect, not separate ingredients. The resinous, animalic base takes over for the long haul and gets warmer the longer it sits. It is a strong scent. Staying power is long and the trail carries well, so begin with a small amount and let the brighter opening pass before judging the base. Anyone drawn to pepper, incense and animalic woods will enjoy its forceful contrasts. The same qualities make it demanding, so it is a fragrance of character more than easy everyday wear.
