Top, heart and base are the brand's own listing, not a timing claim - the industry classifies a note by its character as much as by how fast it fades. Each curve here is modelled from that material's own volatility, so groups can overlap when a house lists long-lasting materials in its heart.

About

Ivory Sap is magnolia in morning light. The opening is a sparkle of bergamot, lemon and mandarin, airy and bright, which makes the scent feel awake from the first spray. Then the flowers bloom. Magnolia is creamy and a little lemony, rose adds a soft, dewy petal body, and mahonial gives a fresh, lily-of-the-valley-like clean note. It is delicate, green and quietly luxurious, never heavy. Ambrette seed, akigalawood and white musk close it out. Ambrette adds a warm, skin-like softness, akigalawood a clean, peppery wood and white musk a smooth, soapy finish. As a 30 percent extrait, it is longer-lasting than a typical fresh floral and stays pleasantly close to the skin. It suits the office, spring weddings, brunches and warm days. Two or three sprays are fine. Bottom line: a clean, citrusy magnolia floral that feels fresh and refined.
