The dupe captures that opening well - the saffron-cardamom combination is present and gives it the same warm, slightly exotic first impression reviewers praise on the original. The rose follows through the heart, though it reads a touch simpler here without the same layered spice complexity. The base is where the gap widens: Penhaligon's Halfeti is known for genuinely excellent longevity, sometimes lasting close to a week on fabric, built on a proper leather-oud-cedar foundation. This attar's leather and oud are noticeably lighter, and the composition fades into a soft sandalwood-vanilla skin scent well before the original would still be going strong. Still, for the price, it delivers a convincing taste of that spiced dark-rose character without the Penhaligon's cost.
