La Nuit de l'Homme Attar copies Yves Saint Laurent's signature men's fragrance, the one credited with popularising the cardamom-lavender formula that half of modern masculine perfumery has since borrowed. The oil opens with the same peppery cardamom and clean bergamot the original is known for, and the lavender-cedar heart follows close behind, giving it that instantly familiar barbershop-meets-seduction character. Where it falls short is the base: the real La Nuit de l'Homme is famous for a cumin note that reads as warm, slightly animalic skin musk, the detail that makes people ask what you're wearing. Here that facet is present but much quieter, replaced largely by a generic clean musk that is pleasant but forgettable by comparison. Sillage is intimate rather than the original's confident room presence. As a low-cost way to wear the cardamom-lavender idea for a few hours it works well, but it trades the smouldering, slightly dirty base that fans love for something safer and more polite.
