Le Male Le Parfum follows Jean Paul Gaultier's 2020 concentrated reinvention of its classic sailor-bottle scent, described by reviewers as swapping the original's playful energy for something bold, intense and woody-oriental. Pearl Fragrances leans into the vanilla that reviewers say dominates from the very first moment and never really lets up, pushing it even sweeter and more immediate here than in Gaultier's own version. The cardamom top note that gives the original its initial heat and spice is present but softer, and the lavender-iris heart - which some reviewers compare to the iris work in Valentino Uomo Intense - is thinned into a much fainter powdery note rather than a defined accord.
