Valaya Attar

Valaya Attar is Pearl Fragrances' take on Parfums de Marly's Valaya, a fragrance built around a juicy blackcurrant-peach opening layered over a sweet vanilla-caramel base. This oil delivers that fruit with real confidence - the blackcurrant is tart and immediate, arguably louder than the original's more polished entrance - and the vanilla-caramel base is generous and sweet from fairly early in the wear. What thins out is the middle: jasmine and orange blossom, which in Marly's version add a genuine floral sophistication to keep the sweetness from tipping into candy territory, come through here as little more than a faint aromatic backdrop. The result leans more straightforwardly fruity-gourmand than the layered, glamorous composition Valaya is known for. Performance stays modest, settling into a soft, sweet skin scent within a couple of hours rather than the original's more assertive presence. It captures the playful, sweet-fruity mood well enough for a casual or daytime wear, without the floral depth that makes the designer version feel more considered.
