Bright Herb is Perfume Parlour's take on Jo Malone's Scarlet Poppy Cologne Intense, the cosy fig-and-poppy gourmand-floral. It opens with a soft, musky ambrette before a creamy, milky fig takes over, dusted with black poppy seed and powdery orris. The base brings comforting barley, almond-tinged heliotrope and sweet tonka, giving it that warm, snuggly, cherry-almond-lotion feel. Against the Jo Malone, this budget version simplifies the lush creaminess and reads a touch flatter and sweeter, with longevity sitting close to the skin rather than the original's stronger sillage. Still, the cosy, softly seductive fig-gourmand character is well captured, making it an easy, comforting budget option for relaxed days and gentle date nights through spring and autumn.
