Clyvez V opens on a soft fruity-floral lift of peach, neroli and bergamot, the budget echo of Clive Christian's opulent V For Women. The heart is a full white-floral bouquet - jasmine, rose, gardenia, orange blossom and creamy ylang-ylang - with a touch of lavender lending astringency to the lushness, that classic, womanly floral character the original is built around. The drydown turns into a traditional chypre: oakmoss, patchouli and sandalwood softened by honey, amber and musk, grounding the flowers in mossy sophistication. Where the luxury original boasts above-average sillage and overnight longevity with rich, layered detail, this take reads flatter and simpler, the chypre base thinner and the florals less dimensional, projecting closer to the skin. Still, it captures the elegant, romantic spirit of V For Women - lovely for evenings, dates and dressed-up occasions across spring and the cooler months - at a fraction of the price, even if the original's plush depth is only suggested.
