Fareed Essence chases Arabian Oud's Al Fareed, a polished, everyday woody-spicy oud and one of the house's most-loved scents. It opens fresh and energetic - sparkling bergamot and spicy pink pepper lifted by a green geranium - bright and slightly lemony. The heart turns rich and elegant: earthy patchouli woven with a powdery violet and sensual ambergris, smooth and refined. The drydown is its luxurious core - a powdery oud rounded with clean musk and creamy vanilla, woody and a little sweet. Where the original is a beast (above-average projection, twelve hours-plus on skin), this dupe keeps the citrus-oud-musk story but reads flatter and more synthetic through the oud and projects far more modestly, fading well ahead of the Arabian Oud. It remains a refined, confident woody-spicy oud - polished, sensual and versatile - that suits cooler-weather days and evenings, an affordable budget stand-in for the Arabian Oud.
