First Intrinsic

Perfume Parlour First Intrinsic is an Eau de Parfum launched in 1993. First Intrinsic opens with Star Anise, Orange Blossom, Bergamot, and Mandarin, settles into a heart of Ylang-Ylang, Orchid, Ginger, and Iris, and dries down to a base of Cinnamon, Vanilla, Sandalwood, and Musk. Perfume Parlour's First Intrinsic carries a Statement verdict, a powdery-led wear.

First Intrinsic chases Jean Paul Gaultier's Classique - the iconic soapy-powdery orange blossom wrapped in warm vanilla amber. It captures that vintage, clean-then-sweet signature, but renders it flatter and lighter, with the original's rich, room-filling powder pulled down to a softer, closer wear.

About

First Intrinsic opens on the recognisable Classique accord: a soapy orange blossom brightened by mandarin and bergamot with a cool star-anise twist, instantly nostalgic and a little powdery. The heart blooms with ylang-ylang, orchid and iris over a warming ginger and soft plum, keeping that floral-oriental balance the original is loved for. As it dries down the base does the heavy lifting - creamy vanilla and warm amber laced with cinnamon, sandalwood and clean musk - giving the sweet, embracing finish that defines the scent. Against the genuine Classique it is less opulent and less tenacious: the powder reads thinner, the vanilla less boozy and rich, and projection stays modest where the original fills a room for hours. Still, the shape is faithful and unmistakably 'Classique', a feminine, soapy-sweet powder bomb in miniature. It trades the original's depth and longevity for budget wearability, best in cooler months for evenings, dates and dressier occasions.
