Gray Oud opens fresh and breezy with an aquatic, almost sea-air accord lifted by a touch of bergamot - the maritime opening that sets Al Majed Oud Wood Gray apart from typical heavy ouds. The heart turns warmer with soft leather and a thread of caramel before the base settles into smoky oud and creamy sandalwood. Perfume Parlour's version captures that distinctive fresh-then-woody journey, pairing aquatic brightness with a smoky-sweet drydown. Against the original it reads simpler and skin-closer - the leather is softer, the smoke gentler, and the famously strong Al Majed projection is dialled back to a moderate sillage. Longevity is decent but not the all-day endurance of the real thing. An easy, versatile budget oud that works across seasons thanks to its aquatic lift.
