Perfume Parlour Great Fondness is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2018. Great Fondness opens with Bergamot and Petitgrain, settles into a heart of Neroli, Orange Blossom, and Jasmine, and dries down to a base of Vetiver. Perfume Parlour's Great Fondness carries a Favourite verdict, a green-led wear.

Great Fondness targets By Kilian's Do It For Love - the clean floral-woody-musk where bright orange blossom, neroli and jasmine meet a green vetiver base. The dupe captures the fresh white-floral signature but renders it flatter, with the classy, polished drydown simplified and longevity sitting closer to the skin.

Top, heart and base are the brand's own listing, not a timing claim - the industry classifies a note by its character as much as by how fast it fades. Each curve here is modelled from that material's own volatility, so groups can overlap when a house lists long-lasting materials in its heart.

About

Great Fondness opens fresh and green - petitgrain and bergamot setting a crisp citrus tone before the flowers arrive. The heart is the heart of it: a luminous trio of orange blossom, neroli and prominent jasmine, clean and elegant rather than heady. A vetiver base lends a bold, slightly earthy-green grounding that keeps the florals from turning sweet. Against the Kilian original the dupe reads a touch flatter and less refined: the beautifully clean, classy dry-down that fans praise is simplified, and the moderate longevity is trimmed further. It wears as an elegant, unisex floral-woody - bright and easy across spring and summer, suited to casual days, the office and daytime dates. Projection is modest and longevity skin-close after the opening hours, the usual budget trade against the variable but often long-lasting original. As a smell-alike it captures the fresh jasmine-neroli-vetiver character of Do It For Love while losing some of the polish and tenacity.
