Havana Vanilla

Perfume Parlour Havana Vanilla is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2020. Havana Vanilla opens with Tobacco and Cacao Butter, settles into a heart of Rum, Dried Fruits, and Floral, and dries down to a base of Vanilla, Amber, and Leather. Perfume Parlour's Havana Vanilla carries an Acquired verdict, a warm spicy-led wear.

Perfume Parlour's read on Les Indemodables Vanille Havane - the same dark, boozy tobacco-and-cacao vanilla rather than a cupcake sweet one. Havana Vanilla nails the cigar-and-rum opening but loses some of the original's smoky leather depth and resin-rich longevity, reading sweeter and a little more linear than Antoine Lie's masterwork.

About

Havana Vanilla opens on warm pipe tobacco and bittersweet cacao, the boozy lift of rum and dried fruits curling through the heart alongside a whisper of dark florals. It is Perfume Parlour's interpretation of Les Indemodables Vanille Havane (2020), a celebrated dark-vanilla composition that treats the bean as a real cured pod - smoky, resinous and grown-up rather than a dessert. The dupe captures that cigar-lounge character convincingly, with the same tobacco-cacao-rum trinity up front, but it leans a touch sweeter and the leather facet sits softer, so it misses some of the original's brooding depth and its impressive 10-hour staying power. The drydown still lands on a creamy bourbon-vanilla wrapped in amber and a quiet suede-like leather, comforting and skin-warm. Expect solid but not heroic longevity. This is a cool-weather scent through and through: cosy autumn and winter evenings, intimate dates, and lazy fireside nights where its dark, sensual warmth feels luxurious.
