Hedonistic Kiss interprets Clive Christian's Jump Up And Kiss Me Hedonistic, a much-hyped amber-woody built around dark cherry. It opens rich and fruity with dominant black cherry, lifted by bergamot, grapefruit, neroli and a herbal mate-and-clary-sage thread. The heart is sensual and deep: tobacco, jasmine, orris and dry papyrus. The drydown is the heart of the original's appeal - amber, smoked leather, tonka and vanilla over labdanum and patchouli. Against the original, this Perfume Parlour version captures the sour-cherry-and-leather signature convincingly up top, but renders it sweeter and flatter: the smoky leather reads thinner and the dense, resinous richness that justifies the original's price is softened. Longevity is moderate where the original is famously eternal, and projection settles closer after the opening. It is a sensual, dark fruity-leather scent for cooler evenings, dates and formal occasions - a low-cost route to that smoldering cherry-tobacco character.
