Infra Leather opens on a bright, jammy raspberry laced with cinnamon and a flick of bergamot - immediately recognisable as the playful 'raspberry daiquiri' idea behind Maison Crivelli's Cuir InfraRouge. The heart is where the two diverge: the original's powdery orris and suede-soft osmanthus over dry cedar read clearly in the niche extrait, but here they sit further back, letting the sweet fruit carry the middle. The drydown brings leather, a touch of oud, vanilla and patchouli into a smooth, slightly animalic base, though it lands softer and more linear than the original's deep velvety glow. Longevity and projection are noticeably trimmed versus the extrait - expect a few good hours of presence rather than the all-day aura the Crivelli is famous for. Best in autumn and winter, on evenings and dates where a sweet-leathery signature wants to be noticed without shouting.
