Italian Wave

Perfume Parlour Italian Wave is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2021. Italian Wave opens with Artemisia, Pink Pepper, and Bergamot, settles into a heart of Saffron, Suede, Iris, and Lavender, and dries down to a base of Caramel, Vetiver, Patchouli, and Musk. Perfume Parlour's Italian Wave carries a Favourite verdict, a aromatic-led wear.

Italian Wave mirrors Prada Luna Rossa Ocean's spicy aromatic-fougere with its 'blue' lavender-iris signature. The pink-pepper opening and powdery vetiver-musk drydown read close, but as a budget dupe it lands flatter and lighter than the polished Prada.

About

Italian Wave opens on a spicy-fresh accord of pink pepper and bergamot lifted by herbal artemisia, the same bright, slightly synthetic-blue start that defines Prada Luna Rossa Ocean. The heart turns powdery and refined with lavender and iris - Prada's trademark purple signature - softened by sage, saffron and a touch of suede. A musky drydown of vetiver, patchouli and a whisper of caramel keeps it clean and a little sweet. The overall character is the aromatic-fougere-with-blue-touches that made the original a modern crowd-pleaser. As a Perfume Parlour budget interpretation it renders the composition flatter and more 2D than the Prada: the salty, watery sophistication is muted, the iris-lavender powder thinner, and projection sits skin-close after the opening rather than the impressive sillage the original can throw. Even so, the spicy-aromatic, clean and grounded mood comes through, making it an affordable everyday alternative.
