Obsidian Orchid targets Tom Ford Black Orchid Reserve, a richer and more gourmand reading of the classic. It opens with a savoury black truffle and a bright bergamot lift before the heart unfurls into creamy ylang-ylang and the signature dark orchid. The base is where it goes plush - dark chocolate, patchouli, tonka and vanilla weave a deep, sweet, almost edible drydown. Perfume Parlour's version captures that decadent, seductive mood, leaning generously sweet and approachable. Against the real Reserve it reads simpler - the earthy truffle facet is softened, the floral less nuanced, and projection more modest where the original is dense and long-lasting. Longevity is moderate. A lush, sensual budget dark-floral gourmand for cold-weather evenings.
