Red Artist opens sweet and juicy: ripe raspberry and tart red currant lifted by peppery pink pepper and a spicy saffron - the signature berry-rose entrance of Estee Lauder's Modern Muse Le Rouge (2015). The heart blooms into a rich rose, deepened by jasmine and soft magnolia petals, keeping it lush and feminine. The base settles into warm vanilla, earthy patchouli, powdery ambrette and a thread of vetiver. Perfume Parlour's interpretation captures the original's sweet, peppery berry-rose and its mature, put-together feel convincingly, but it reads a fraction flatter, the berries a touch louder and more synthetic up top and the drydown thinner than the designer original. Where Modern Muse Le Rouge can push a strong several hours with good projection, here longevity is more moderate and the trail closer to the skin. The effect stays confident and feminine - a sweet fruity-floral rose for autumn, winter and cool spring, at home on dates, evenings and dressier occasions.
