Salam opens with a subtle lift of mandarin and bergamot, a quiet citrus hint rather than a burst, much like the finely balanced start of the Anfas original. The heart is the centrepiece, a warm, resinous amber wrapped around seductive jasmine and a soft, dewy magnolia, giving that sweet floral-ambery glow the scent is loved for. The drydown turns creamy and smooth as sandalwood and a faintly animalic musk settle into a calm, sensual trail. The original is prized for its serene, elegant balance and respectable longevity; this Perfume Parlour version follows the same citrus-amber-floral arc but reads flatter and a touch sweeter, with the sandalwood less creamy and the projection sitting close to the skin. It remains a soothing, refined budget pick, best in autumn and winter for evenings, dates and cosy daily wear where its warm, peaceful character can glow.
