Scarlet Elegance

Scarlet Elegance is Perfume Parlour's affordable interpretation of BDK Parfums Rouge Smoking, the cult 2018 cherry-amber. It opens sweet and fruity - a plump, almost liqueur-like cherry lifted by pink pepper and bergamot - the standout note that made the original famous. The heart turns soft and powdery with black vanilla husk, heliotrope and orange blossom, the cherry-and-vanilla pairing reviewers call masterfully blended, before a cosy base of tonka bean, cashmere wood, white musk, ambroxan, labdanum and violet rounds it into a warm, slightly amber drydown. The original is loved for its polished cherry-vanilla and 6-8 hour longevity; testers who compared this dupe side-by-side with Rouge Smoking found them pretty much identical, noting the PP version actually lasts longer, with only a slight loss of refinement.
