Sea Mist opens bright and sunny - a splash of Italian bergamot lifts a generous neroli blossom that quickly takes centre stage, giving the scent its clean, refined floral brightness. This is a neroli-forward fragrance more than a citrus one: the bergamot is just a pinch to balance the white-floral heart, much as it is in Victoria's Secret's Very Sexy Sea. The drydown adds a warm, sundrenched cedar floating in a watery freshness, lending a soft, slightly aquatic finish without weighing the florals down. As a dupe it stays faithful to the source's clean floral-fresh character, with the PP version reading a fraction fuller on the neroli. Where it gains is performance: the original was often noted for a modest four-to-six-hour wear, and Sea Mist's cedar base helps it linger a little longer with friendly projection.
