Skin Vanilla

Skin Vanilla opens with a playful sparkle of sugar, pink pepper and crisp red apple before melting into a soft heart of cashmere wood, jasmine and lily. It is Perfume Parlour's take on Phlur's Vanilla Skin (2023), the viral skin-scent vanilla prized for being warm and refined rather than dessert-sweet. The dupe captures that cosy, second-skin character well: the drydown lands on creamy vanilla wrapped in sandalwood, resinous benzoin and a faint smoky oud for depth. Compared with the original it reads a fraction sweeter and the woods a little thinner, so it misses some of Phlur's elegant balance and its impressive 12-hour performance. Here, longevity is solid but more moderate, sitting close to the skin. The effect is comforting and quietly sensual - a soft spiced vanilla with a refined woody edge. Best in cooler weather and mild spring days, it suits casual wear, cosy evenings and relaxed dates.
