Soft Flower For Women

Soft Flower opens on tart blackcurrant, bergamot and a green freshness before blooming into its heart: a soft, stylised rose surrounded by gardenia, orange blossom and lily of the valley - the modern fantasy-rose signature of Valentino's Rock'n Rose (2006). Rather than a classic rose soliflore, this is a loud, diffusive floral with rose as just one voice, drying down to a gentle base of vanilla, heliotrope, orris, sandalwood and musk. Perfume Parlour's interpretation captures that pretty, slightly indistinct floral character well, though it reads a fraction more synthetic and watery than the original, and the blend a touch flatter. Longevity is moderate - the original itself was known to fade within a few hours - so the dupe's modest staying power is in keeping. The effect is romantic and feminine: a soft, easy white-floral with a sweet, powdery finish. Best from spring through autumn, it suits casual wear, dates, daytime and easy evenings.
