Spicy Legacy interprets Amouage Lineage, an acclaimed niche amber-spicy fragrance built around incense and resins. It opens with a vivid blast of ginger, Sichuan and pink pepper lifted by saffron, bright and slightly green. The heart turns resinous and smoky as frankincense and myrrh take over, with an unusual savoury thread of fenugreek. The drydown deepens into olibanum, labdanum, vetiver, benzoin and patchouli for a dry, woody-amber base. Against the original, this Perfume Parlour version captures the spicy-incense skeleton convincingly but loses Lineage's signature mineral, salty-sea luminosity and the rich, almost glowing smokiness reviewers prize - here the incense reads flatter and more straightforwardly dry. Longevity is moderate where the original is above-average, and projection settles closer to the skin after the opening hour. It is a serious, meditative spicy-incense scent for cooler evenings and formal wear - a low-cost route to that resinous Amouage character, if not its full depth.
